In what was billed as an early top of the table clash, South Nutfield turned up confident against a youthful Headley Old Freemens team. Jim proceeded to win the toss and put the opposition into bat on what looked like a "road" but looks can be deceiving. As the openers strutted to the middle, including one clearly demonstrating the latest in Adidas beachwear, Hanif "Sleep all day and party all night" Khan and Dylan "Demon" Campbell got us underway from either end. We started strong with both bowlers getting into stride early and each bowler taking batsmen 1 & 3 in quick succession, seeing out the first 16 overs nicely. Muhammad "First Team" Fayyaz then swiftly removed the other opener and Progress "The Powerful" Karamba took down batsman 5 with an edge behind. Simon "Superstar" Marus then came on to bowl but we were stifled by batsmen 4 & 6 who held on and brought Headley back into the match. Jordan "Anil Kumble" Kohlbeck then came on but couldn't find the breakthough so it came down to Kyle "Baby Faced Assassin" Cambell who proceeded to steamroll the lower order in convincing fashion while Superstar Marus took their main bat no.4 caught and bowled and bowled no.8 which led to the collapse of Headley's lower order. Kyle is now on a hat trick not just for the Colts but for the 2's as well. 184 was the target which was pretty flattering for them as had we removed their number 4 quicker it could have been double digits.

Jim "Soon to be Div 3 winning Captain" Paulett and Superstar Marus opened with some rapid fire runs. Jim knocked a quick 15 before being bamboozled by the short run up of the change bowler and First Team Fayyaz soon followed. Despite that Superstar Marus was too busy carting their opening bowler over deep square leg to worry and Matt "Guardian of the Wicket" Wright joined him as they batted sensibly to put us in a position of power at around 140 before Simon departed. In came Nick "Kamikaze" Driver who slashed at every thing and departed but then came Tim "Everyone's favourite Evangelist" Bongers helping Matt nearly see it out before Jordan "Kimble" Kohlbeck came on to finish the game following Matt's lbw. Max points and relatively comfortably too sends the 2s to the top of the pile and it looks very comfortable at the top of Cricket Hill 7 games in.
