The Outwood Outlaws visited Cricket Hill and deservedly took the spoils in what turned out to be a good game.

After winning the toss and batting first, Middleton set the tone with aggressive hitting from the outset. Lane and Russell-Watts went quickly but Stephen joined Middleton and pushed the run rate up to nearly 10 an over.

Dylan Campbell bowled really well and removed Middleton just short of retirement, Stephen than retired for a well made 50.
The second 10 overs belong to south as Campbell an excellent 4/31 and Lewy 2/26 stopped the outlaws from getting away. Smith and Bellars took late wickets and In a massive change from Friday, south caught every catch and the ground fielding was much improved. Chris Bailey made a big difference. Outlaws 158 all out with under 6 an over being scored from the last 10 overs.

South went off in pursuit but lost Ahson early and just when Smithy and JB looked like they were hitting their straps, Smithy holed out off Talbot. Bailey and Johnston did not last long but JB attacked with a fine 39 before being unluckily bowled by Kendall.

Simon and Lewy did their best, Lewy run out after a counter attack and veteran simon caught and bowled and ultimately the end was nigh as the outlaws romped through the tail.

After some feisty clashes over the last couple of years, the game was played in a competitive but good spirit and both side shared a beer at the end of the game.

The Mavericks head next to Horley Hackers next Friday so please come and support the team.
