SNCC U14's completed their league season with defeat to joint league winners Limpsfield Chart. Finishing a credible 3rd in the league the season included memorable home wins vs Reigate Priory and Beddington, the latter seeing the team put on a season high total of 151 runs.
The season started slowly in early May with 1st round defeat to Merstham in the Cup and Limpsfield Chart in the League, both matches seeing the team struggle with the bat. With glorious weather in May and June the team began to find a bit of form, firstly narrowly defeated by 1 run away at Beddington, before securing a 1st Round Plate win over Horley. This kickstarted the season with league wins following and a cup run to the Quarter Finals to play a strong Sanderstead team. Putting on a credible 119/7 in 100 balls the stronger side won with 9 balls to spare in a game played in good spirit.
The squad has grown to 17 players this year (2 new to cricket), supported by U12 players early in the season. The bulk of the team are U13 which adds further to the level at which the team are competing, and the coaches and parents are extremely proud of the team spirit and togetherness. Highlight of the season being the Fathers Day win - celebrated in style by the watching crowd (photo). A large number of the squad have also represented SNCC 3rd XI Development side this season where they have not been found wanting.
The End of Season Awards in late July celebrated the teams success with individual awards this year presented to J Mouliah, S Broddle, F Bate and T Ottley.
