We don't normally do a match report but this result deserves a brief one at the very least.
Stallions, against league leaders Graveney, started the match at 2.30pm. By 2.40pm, the match was over leaving the Stallions time to go and watch some of the England v Italy six nations match at the pub. Normally in a back to back game, it is exactly that, one immediately after the other, but this was a pounding of epic proportions.
Graveney were home and therefore had the decision as to whether to bat or bowl first. They chose to bat...a decision that 5 minutes later they probably came to regret somewhat. Dylan Campbell and Merril Mathias opened the bowling. They bowled 2 overs each and that was all that was required.
Graveney were blasted away by an indoor 5-for from Dylan. His last four wickets were from his final four balls.....four wickets in four balls! Not sure I've seen that anywhere before. So at around 2.37pm, some 7 minutes after we'd started, Graveney were all out for 16, Dylan bagging figures of 2 overs, 0 maidens, 8 runs for 5 wickets.
Jack Bellars and Courtenay Mills led the reply. Jack, somewhat unsurprisingly farmed the majority of the strike. After 8 balls of the Stallions innings, the 17 needed to win was achieved and game over at 2.40pm, Jack smashing a couple of sixes in the process.
Well done all. There have to be some indoor records there somewhere.....best bowling figures maybe?
